Avatar: Fire and Ash box office collection day 3

While Sam Worthington-starrer has collected Rs 25.4 crore at the box office in India on its third day, Dhurandhar made Rs 38.25 crore on its seventeenth day of release, as oer tracker Sacnilk. However, Avatar: Fire and Ash is ruling the world with a collection of $345 million worldwide. The sci-fi flick is dominating overseas with almost $257 million collection outside its domestic rader.

The biggest disappointment of Avatar: Fire and Ash till now is that it absolutely failed to become the biggest opening weekend of 2025, losing to Disney's Zootopia 2, which opened with $500 million in November, making it the highest grossing so far.

Avatar: Fire and Ash also lost to a few other recent blockbusters, such as Margot Robbie's Barbie that collected $356 million, another animated Moana 2 that collected $389 million, and even the Chinese animated flick, Ne Zha 2 that made $431 million on their first opening weekend.

What's the plot of Avatar: Fire and Ash

The most significant part of James Cameron's third installment is the the introduction of Ash people (the Mangkwan clan), who are a nomadic fire-worshipping Na'vi tribe from Pandora's volcanic regions. The Ash tribe is led by Varang (Oona Chaplin). They have a deep resentment towards Eywa, believing the goddess has abandoned them during a past volcanic disaster.

Avatar: Fire and Ash continues the story of Sully family as they navigate the aftermath of the battle against the RDA and the loss of their elder son, Neteyam, in the previous flick. Meanwhile, Colonel Quaritch forms an alliance with Varang and the Ash people join forces with the RDA to launch a massive war against the Sullys and the Metkayina reef clan.
