James Cameron's Avatar: Fire and Ash finally crossed the Rs 100-crore mark at the Indian box office, after completing the first week. While the third sequel is ruling at the worldwide box office, it still couldn't beat Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar in India, even on Christmas. However, Avatar: Fire and Ash, which released in theatres on December 19, has become the biggest sensation at the global box office.

The sci-fi flick earned Rs 13.3 crore on its seventh day from India, taking the total collection to Rs 109.45 crore in its first week of release, according to tracker Sacnilk. Meanwhile, as per a Variety report, the Sam Worthington-starrer grossed $16.5 million in North America earlier this week. The total collections now stand at $483.2 million, as per Box Office Mojo.
Avatar: Fire and Ash had an overall Hindi Occupancy of 44.19% this Christmas. While the morning shows saw 26.32%, the afternoon shows increased to 62.63%, but it slightly dropped to 50.99% in the evening shows, and finally, the movie registered 36.82% occupancy in the night shows.
On the other hand, Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar does not seem to slow down at any point now! Christmas turned out to be an impressive day for the Hindi thriller, collecting Rs 26 crore. This number spiked due to the festive season, as just a day prior, on December 24, the Ranveer Singh-starrer earned only Rs 18 crore.
