Tensions rise as Sully family faces new threats

The trailer clearly shows that the Metkayina clan and Jake Sully's family would be fighting Varang and her evil alliance with Recom Quaritch (Lang). Flashes of battles unfold, Sully's children find themselves in danger once more, and the tension between Neytiri and Jake remains elevated. "You can't live like this, baby—in hate!" Jake exclaims angrily to Neytiri during a particularly intense exchange.

The new tribe's leader, Varang (Oona Chaplin), is an ash queen. The trailer shows her character telling Kiri (Sigourney Weaver) a terrifying thing: "Your goddess has no dominion here." This line indicates the deep ideological and spiritual divide between the Ash People and the other Na'vi clans.
