Avihitham: Teaser of Senna Hegde's next hints at a thought-provoking drama on 'illicit affair'

The teaser of Avihitham depicts a man returning home from a late-night drink with his friends when he discovers an alleged extramarital affair. The movie is slated to hit the big screen soon.

The makers of the upcoming Malayalam film, Avihitham, have unveiled its teaser today (September 6). It undoubtedly suggests a bold drama directed by the critically acclaimed filmmaker, Senna Hegde.

The teaser, which lasts for one minute and thirty-five seconds, depicts a man returning home from a late-night drink with his friends when he discovers an alleged extramarital affair. He quickly knows the woman who is related to a local resident, Madhavan, and the man as Vinod, who operates the local flour mill. It is evident that the confusion and problems that follow this revelation serve as the main focus of the movie, which is named after the Malayalam term for illicit affairs or romances outside of marriage. The movie is slated to hit the big screen soon.

The title poster, which features the movie's tagline "Not just a man's right," was shared on social media by the film's makers recently. The movie effectively bears the label "Made in Kanhangad," carrying on Senna's pattern of filming in Kasaragod. Unniraj, Renji Kankol, Vineeth Chakyar, Dhanesh Koliyat, Rakesh Ushar, Ajith Punnad, Unnikrishnan Parappa, Aneesh Chemmarathi, T Gopinathan, Vrinda Menon, Vijisha Nileshwaram, Ammini Chandralayam, and Parvana Raj are among the cast members of Avihitham who play important roles. Based on a story created by Ambareesh Kalathera, Senna and Kalathera wrote the screenplay for Avihitham. Ramesh Mathews has helmed the film's cinematography.

Senna Hegde's prior directorials

Senna is well-known for his highly regarded films, which attracted recognition for its performers and stories. Katheyondu Shuruvagide, a Kannada romantic comedy, marked his directorial debut. Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam, his acclaimed Malayalam film, went on to win the 2020 National Award for Best Malayalam Film. Both OTTplay Premium and Sony LIV are streaming this movie.

Later, Senna directed 1744 White Alto, starring Sharaf U Dheen. His recent movie was Kunchacko Boban's Padmini, which is available to watch on Netflix. The filmmaker also made a brief appearance in Ashiq Abu's Rifle Club.
