Ayushmann Khurrana is one of the most loved actors today because he has picked quirky stories all his life, beginning with the movie Vicky Donor. However, he did the film because he was desperate to get a movie. Vicky Donor’s screenwriter Juhi Chaturvedi revealed so in an interview to India Today.

Juhi revealed that given the topic, many actors had refused to do the film. Hence, not only was Ayushmann desperate to do the film but the makers were also desperate to find a lead actor for the movie.

The screenwriter feels that only Shoojit Sircar could make such a movie. She feared if she could write the script since the topic was of sperm donation and only Shoojit Sircar could do justice to it.

Vicky Donor is romantic-comedy movie about infertility and sperm donation within a Bengali-Punjabi household. The movie is helmed by Shoojit Sircar and produced by John Abraham. Starring Yami Gautam as the female lead, Vicky Donor also sees Annu Kapoor and Dolly Ahluwalia in pivotal roles.

After their successful collaboration in 2012, Shoojit and Juhi got together for three more projects. They did Piku in 2015, October in 2018 and Gulabo Sitabo in 2020. Ayushmann was a part of 2020 release with Amitabh Bachchan.

Currently, fans are waiting to see Ayushmann Khurrana back as Pooja in Dream Girl 2. The movie, the second installment to the 2019 film, co-stars Ananya Panday and will release in theatres on July 7, 2023.

Raaj Shaandilyaa returns as the director for Dream Girl 2. The movie stars Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Manoj Joshi, Rajpal Yadav, Seema Pahwa, Manjot Singh and Abhijeet Banerjee in pivotal roles.
