Azadi is hailed by netizens as a compelling thriller

The jail break thriller is being praised for avoiding a lot of mass scenes and gimmicks and for being true to its genre. The main cast, which includes Sreenath Bhasi, Lal, Vani Viswanath, and Raveena, has received praise for their performances. Lal introduces a mass appeal to Azadi that follows with a detailed narrative, while Sreenath performs a poignant act.

Some, on the other hand, contend that Saiju Kurp's character was underdeveloped and that the movie contained a few dull scenes that caused minor gaps, falling short of viewers' expectations.

Overall, the film is commended for its compelling story supported by excellent acting. Some have also noted that the movie should have received more praise in theatres.

Azadi's plot details

Ganga, a pregnant inmate brought to a Medical College to give birth, is at the centre of Azadi. Ganga is accused of killing the son of an influential politician. Her father, Shivan, a former goon, and husband, Raghu, prepare a getaway from jail for her. The plan, which is meant to be implemented in a day, encounters unforeseen obstacles when police officers learn of it. A tense showdown in the hospital forms the crux of the movie. The viewers will be taken aback by the twist in the climax, though.

Saiju Kurup, Vijayakumar, Asha Madathil, Gilu Joseph, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, T G Ravi, Rajesh Sharma, Shobi Thilakan, and Boban Samuel are among Azadi's supporting cast members. This is Jo George's first film as director. Director Sagar wrote the screenplay for the thriller, which hit the big screen in May 2025. Faizal Raja provided funding for this movie under Little Crew Production's banner.
