Starting the coming week, Sony Entertainment Television's Bade Achhe Lagte Hai will return for a new season of its long-running romantic series. Bade Achhe Lagte Hai – Naya Season is the name of the new instalment, which stars Harshad Chopda and Shivangi Joshi. Sony TV will telecast the show Monday through Friday at 8:30 PM IST beginning on June 16, 2025. During its airing on television, the episodes will also be available to stream on Sony LIV (OTTplay Premium).

Plot overview

Through the prism of an intercommunity arranged marriage, the show re-examines the complexities of modern relationships. The character of Rishabh Kapoor, played by Harshad Chopda, is a middle-class Punjabi guy who is struggling with coming of age, responsibility, and dedication. Bhagyashree Iyer, played by Shivangi Joshi, is a Tamilian lady adjusting to life as a working wife. When Bhagya's new boss turns out to be Rishabh's ex-lover, it disrupts their marriage and leads to significant emotional turmoil.

The makers moved the show's launch from May 2025 to June 2025 due to internal schedule adjustments and the end of the Indian Premier League season. Sony has confirmed the next chapter in one of its most reliable franchises, and the release is set for mid-June.

Teaser sparks buzz across social media

The unveiling of the new season's promotional materials at the end of May sparked an online discussion. In a slice-of-life scene from the teaser, Rishabh is describing his wife to an unknown person while completely oblivious to the fact that she is standing directly behind him. Many have lauded Chopda and Joshi's chemistry, but others have complained about the franchise's casting decisions and how often it reboots. Still, anticipation has been heightened by the starring duo's widespread acclaim.

Since its 2011 premiere the Bade Achhe Lagte Hai franchise—created by Balaji Telefilms and directed by Ektaa R. Kapoor—has gone through numerous iterations and seasons. With each new iteration, the fundamental concepts of love, trust, and compatibility have been reimagined within the framework of contemporary India.
