Ali Abbas Zafar’s forthcoming directorial, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, is set to go on floors in January 2023. It is being produced by Pooja Entertainment and comprises Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff in the lead roles. In bringing the two action stars on screen together for the first time, Ali seeks to blend two different schools of action.

He reports to Pinkvilla, "I would call my film a culmination of action drama and comedy. The idea is to celebrate both these action stars with a subject which is very relevant and contemporary in today’s time."

He proceeds to emphasise that while it has little connection to the old film, the title is monumental in immortalising a twist that occurs in the film to serve as "an ode to the old Bade Miyan Chote Miyan."

Ali reveals himself to be very excited about the film; it is currently in the pre-production stage, and he plans to delve into the shooting from January to May in Europe. He claims it to be a big responsibility and announces the release with a smile that it will be in December of next year. The identity of the female lead is to be divulged within a week.

Ali labels the film a buddy film and states that it is a space that has not taken with it the war between Hrithik Roshan and Tiger but rather has been cultivated such that they now work together and not against each other. He proclaims, "It’s in the zone of cinema we used to see in the 80s—when Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, and Dharmendra used to come together. Or even Karan Arjun for that matter. It’s a two-hero film, a buddy film."

Ali concludes to the entertainment portal that he has perpetually been a fan of the action genre, noting the tremendous response action films receive from all over the world in current times. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is a buddy film, as he is fond of two hero films, expressing that the genre "has its own charm."

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is set to hit the big screens in December 2023.
