The upcoming bilingual movie Balti's producers had previously provided an update on when it would be released in theatres. The sports drama, which stars Shane Nigam in the lead role, was scheduled to premiere on August 29. However, there are now rumours that the release has been delayed for unspecified reasons.

Balti's release postponed?

The film's Onam release date was previously confirmed. The sports drama, which is being marketed as Shane Nigam's 25th film, will be simultaneously released in Malayalam and Tamil in cinemas during the holiday season, the producers revealed. Rumour has it, though, that Balti's release has been delayed for unknown reasons. It is reasonable to believe that the film's release has been delayed because of the release of several other much awaited films on August 28 and 29.

Mohanlal's Hridayapoorvam is one of the other much awaited Malayalam films that will be shown in theatres during Onam. At the same time, Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira, starring Fahadh Faasil, will make its big-screen premiere. Lokah Chapter One: Chandra, another film featuring Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen, is also looking for an Onam release. This Dominic Arun-directed film is expected to have cameos by Dulquer Salmaan and Tovino Thomas. In addition, Maine Pyar Kiya, with Hridhu Haroon and Preity Mukhundhan in lead roles, would be released during this holiday season.

The latest promo features Udhayan, played by Shane Nigam, dressed like a resilient kabbadi player and running away from a few cops. Unni Shivalingam is the director of this movie. This action drama's script was written by the director himself. Balti is produced by Santosh T. Kuruvilla and Binu Alexander George in collaboration from STK Frames and Binu George Alexander Productions. Several locations in Coimbatore, Palakkad, and Pollachi were used to film the film. Recently, it was revealed that Sai Abhyankkar, a Tamil musician, would create the project's soundtrack. Another important character in Balti is director Alphonse Puthren.
