The teaser of Kannada actor Dheekshith Shetty’s upcoming heist comedy Bank of Bhagyalakshmi has dropped. The film, directed by Abhishek M, is about a small-time crew of thieves, who hope to strike jackpot with a hit on the local Bhagyalakshmi Cooperative Society. But as luck would have it, on the day of the heist, all the money that the bank has on premises is a princely sum of Rs 66,999. What happens after they realize the futility of their effort and figure out if there’s a way out for them without getting caught by the police forms the crux of the tale, according to this teaser.

Dheekshith is joined by Srivatsa Shyam, Sadhu Kokila, Brinda Acharya, Ashwin Rao Pallaki, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Bharath GB and Sruthi Hariharan, among others in the comedy. Interestingly, in an earlier interview, Brinda had mentioned that there’s more to Bank of Bhagyalakshmi than just the heist element and that there’s a pertinent social message. While she is the love interest, Brinda is also seen in the bank. Whether or not she is part of the motley crew or just caught in the bank during the heist will be revealed when the film releases in theatres.

Bank of Bhagyalakshmi had earlier been announced as a Krishna Ajai Rao led film, but nearly two years later, Dheekshith came on board, with the actor stating that the heist comedy space was a welcome break for him in terms of genre. The film has been produced by HK Prakash, who’d earlier made the sleeper hit Rangitaranga.

Bank of Bhagyalakshmi will be Dheekshith’s first Kannada release since 2024’s Blink. The actor has a couple of interesting projects lined up in Telugu, including the Rahul Ravindra directorial The Girlfriend, starring Rashmika Mandanna in the lead. Dheekshith is paired opposite the Kuberaa actress. He will also be seen in a film called KJQ in Telugu. Back home, Dheekshith had recently announced a new collaboration with Blink maker Srinidhi, which is based on the found-footage concept.
