The film features mysteries linked to a bungalow by the forest fringes, which is surrounded by monkeys who are also crucial to the narrative. Bahul then scripted the second season of Kerala Crime Files series, starring Arjun Radhakrishnan, which revolves around the missing case of CPO Ambili Raju. The thriller series was strongly linked to dogs in the Kerala capital city. Actors Aju Varghese and Lal also returned for Season 2, helmed by Ahammed Khabeer.

For the Eko movie, Bahul once again placed a pack of dogs at the center of the plot, completing the final chapter in his Animal trilogy. The Eko movie revolves around a youth, Peeyoos, who takes care of an elderly woman, Mlaathi Chettathi. Her husband Kuriachan, a famed dog breeder, has been absconding. As his friends and foes come looking for him, it sets off a chain of events that reveals several sinister crimes even while adding new layers of mystery. Along with Sandeep Pradeep in the lead, the film also features Vineeth, Narain, Biana Momin and Binu Pappu in key roles.
