Debutant Adhil Maimoonath Asharaf’s Ntikkakkokkoru Premondarnn marks actress Bhavana’s comeback to the Malayalam film industry in a lead role after six years. While several noted filmmakers including Aashiq Abu and Shaji Kailas had approached the actress during this period, she picked this movie, which also has Sharafudheen in the lead, and it was totally unplanned, the actress said.

“This is not a film that I had committed because I wanted my comeback to be celebrated. After I decided for some time that I wouldn’t do a Malayalam movie, it just happened at the right time with the right people,” said Bhavana, in a recent interview with RJ Manju.

The actress had decided that she wouldn’t even be listening to Malayalam scripts after Adam Joan back in 2017. Bhavana said that even when those near and dear had asked why she wasn’t doing films in Malayalam, the actress explained in an interview with The Cue, “I didn’t have an exact answer for that but somehow I thought that was the best way to go about it.”

After five years, Bhavana began listening to the scripts, but her initial reaction was to decline the offers, she said. In fact, the team of Ntikkakkokkoru Premondarnn had apparently waited for four months to narrate the script to the actress. “Like for the films that were offered to me before this, I also told them that I am not doing movies. But they decided to wait and then after four months, they met in January 2022. Again, my initial reaction was that I won’t be doing it. But we got acquainted and they sent me a draft, which I read, and then it just happened. It wasn’t a movie that was planned,” said Bhavana.

Ntikkakkokkoru Premondarnn is set to hit theatres on February 14 along with Oh My Darling, Pranaya Vilasam, Santosham and Pallimani.
