Amaal Mallik, who has been slowly winning hearts with his actions inside the Bigg Boss 19 house, became the captain on Salman Khan's show with just an extra vote. He was among the candidates owing to the votes received for Team Red during the Sports Day task. Amaal, much like Mridul Tiwari, was a part of the team.

During the decision taken by the contestants in the Assembly Room, Amaal received eight votes in total and thus, owing to majority, he became the captain. The music composer was chosen after Baseer Ali's captaincy came to an end.
