Bigg Boss Kannada OTT: Everyone loves Arjun’s captaincy, but it’s time for a change- here comes captain Jashwanth

The six contestants who’d won various tasks were eligible for captaincy, but only three made it to final voting.

Arjun Ramesh was the first captain in week 1 on Bigg Boss Kannada OTT season 1. Unfortunately for him, shortly after getting the responsibility, he was fairly badly injured on his shoulder during a task and has had his arm in a sling since then. In fact, Arjun has been in so much physical agony that he’d literally asked Bigg Boss to let him return home at the end of week 1 in the house during the elimination process. However, after taking medical advice into consideration, he was asked to continue his stint in the house.

Arjun’s week as captain is now coming to an end – a time in which he was mostly a spectator and making sure that everyone in the house was following rules and doing their chores and tasks correctly. He did have the occasional heated exchange of words with some housemates, but overall, everyone was fairly happy with his performance as captain, even recommending him for a continued second week. The most common comment was that everyone thought he was quite fair while making sure everyone played by the rule book during tasks. What was also pointed out was that Arjun could have done so much better if he were not injured, as his physical pain and emotional stress was taking a toll on him that, in some ways, was affecting him as captain in the house.

Later in the day, the six contestants who’d won the different tasks in the house were named eligible to contest for the post of captain. Two at a time they had to go up and campaign for themselves, with the rest of the contestants then deliberating and eliminating one. First up was Jashwant and Nandini, where the former was the chosen one, as the housemates believed captaincy could give him a chance to bond with everyone better, while also emerging from the shadow of being Nandini’s boyfriend. Next came Jayshree and Sonu and it didn’t take them long to vote the latter out because even her ‘election campaign’ felt arrogant. And finally, between Chythraa and Sanya, the former was the chosen one for her impartial bond with everyone in the house. Sanya’s lack of emotional connect with many contestants then became a talking point.

In the task for captaincy, though, it was Jashwanth who emerged victorious. It now remains to be seen how well he handles this challenge.
