Bigg Boss is one of the most watched reality shows in India, and it has got different versions in local languages to cater to specific audience. In Tamil, so far eight seasons have taken place in course of eight years. A replication of international reality game show Bigg Brother, Bigg Boss Tamil was initially hosted by Kamal Haasan. However, citing his other commitments, the actor and politician stepped down after seventh season. Since then, Vijay Sethupathi has been hosting the show and will be coming back for the ninth season. With the upcoming season to be launched soon, here is a lookback at the winners of the past seasons.

Arav, now an actor and then a model, became the first winner of Bigg Boss Tamil. Known for starring in films like Kalaga Thalaivan, and Vidaamuyarchi, Arav had significant female fan following. His stint inside the Bigg Boss house was much talked about his relationship with co contestant and actor Oviya, who had become fan favourite at that time.
Riythvika, known for her roles in films like Madras and Paradesi, even before entering the Bigg Boss house, emerged as the winner of the second season. Known for her calm and quiet demeanour, Riythvika went on to star in many films like Oru Naal Koothu, Kabali, Sila Nerangalil Sila Manidhargal and more. Riythvika who plays supporting roles in Tamil films, was not caught in much of the game's controversy.
Mugen Rao, a Malaysian with Tamil roots, bagged the title of third season. He was the first Malaysian contestant of the game show and ever since his Bigg Boss stint, has been shuttling between India and Malaysia. He is now working in Tamil film industry and appeared in films like Velan, and Jinn- The Pet.

Aari Arjunan, who has a background in theatre, started out appearing in small roles, before he gained fame as Bigg Boss winner of fourth season. At the time of his title-winning moment, he also shattered the records by winning over 2.1 crore votes, which was highest number of votes for the series until then. Subsequently, he appeared in series like Good Wife and Cheran's Journey besides films.
Raju Jeyamohan, an actor, and anchor, became the winner of fifth season. Known for his comic timing and appearing in small roles like Don and Natpuna Ennanu Theriyuma, Raju got media visibility after he won the title of fifth season. Subsequently, he made his debut as lead in Bun Butter Jam which released this year.
Mohammed Azeem is an actor who appeared in television serials. Known for his hot-headedness, Azeem's journey inside the Bigg Boss house was filled with fights and controversy. He is mostly known for starring in serials, and not much has been made known after his title winning moment.
Archana Ravichandran is an actor who appears in Tamil films and won the title of Bigg Boss Tamil 7. A video jockey by profession who then turned into an actor, she was a wildcard contestant during her season. However, she went on to bag the title, becoming the first wildcard contestant to do so. Archana has appeared in Demonte Colony 2. She returned to the house during eighth season as moral support for her now fiancé Arun who was a contestant.
Muthukumaran Jegatheesan is an orator and anchor who won the latest season of Bigg Boss Tamil. Known for his prolific speaking skills in Tamil, Muthukumaran Jegatheesan's humble background and strategic skills gained him immense attention within and outside the house.
