Arjun Rampal is about to switch it up from his critically praised villain role to a new character-driven drama, following the enormous worldwide success of the Dhurandhar trilogy. Amazon MX Player has officially announced a forthcoming original series starring the actor, Billionaire. At the Amazon Ads "Connected Worlds" event in Mumbai, the actor and award-winning filmmakers Hansal Mehta and Robbie Grewal announced their project, marking a landmark collaboration.

How is Dhurandhar: The Revenge performing at the global box office?

Billionaire has been announced simultaneously with Rampal's Dhurandhar: The Revenge dominating the box office. The Aditya Dhar-helmed spy thriller has surpassed the ₹900 crore milestone globally in only six days after its release on March 19, 2026. Rampal has received rave praises for his performance as the ruthless ISI handler Major Iqbal.

The actor felt a deep connection to the character of Major Iqbal. Rampal recently opened up about his profoundly moving experience as a witness to the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks during one of his performances. Starring in the Dhurandhar franchise allowed him to take "personal revenge" for the atrocities he witnessed almost 20 years ago, he said. Playing a corporate magnate in Billionaire after a high-stakes nemesis is a calculated effort to capitalise on his rising stardom on streaming services.
