Actor Dhruv Vikram is set to star in the sports drama Bison, directed by Mari Selvaraj, marking their first collaboration.

We had earlier reported that actor Dhruv Vikram will be collaborating with filmmaker Mari Selvaraj for a film titled Bison. The makers on Friday, released the first look of the film which is billed to be a sports drama.
Actor Dhruv Vikram, the son of actor Vikram who was last seen in Mahaan alongside his father, is working with director Mari Selvaraj for the first time. The film is titled Bison, and for the occasion of Mari Selvaraj’s birthday on Friday, the makers released the first look poster of the film.
The first look poster showed Dhruv Vikram with hands on his hop, as there is another picture of him sitting on his toes. Behind him, are the horns of a bull, in hues of red. The film will be a sports drama based on kabaddi, which will also star actor Anupama Parameswaran as the female lead. It marks the first time Mari Selvaraj will be directing Dhruv Vikram.
Bison had been announced years back, but ever since Mari Selvaraj had the opportunities to work with Dhanush in Karnan, and Udhayanidhi and Vadivelu in Maamannan, the film was pushed. Soon after the release of Mari Selvaraj’s Vaazhai, the filmmaker began working with Dhruv Vikram for the sports drama.

Anupama Parameswaran, who was last seen in Dragon will be playing an important role in the film alongside actors Lal, Pasupathy, Kalaiyarasan, Rajisha Vijayan, Hari Krishnan, Azhagam Perumal and Aruvi Madhan among others. Applause Entertainment and Pa Ranjith's Neelam Productions are backing the film. This marks the second collaboration of Ranjith and Mari Selvaraj after Pariyerum Perumal.

The post-theatrical streaming rights of Bison have been bagged by Netflix. A release date for the film is yet to be announced by the makers. The technical crew includes Nivas K Prasanna scoring the music and Ezhil Arasu cranking the camera. Sakthi Thiru is the editor of the film.
