Andy Parker’s Boots is finally gearing up for its release on Netflix. The series has locked up a premiere date after lots of delays and Hollywood strike aftermath. Formerly known as The Corps, Netflix’s Boot stars Miles Heizer (13 Reasons Why) in the lead. A teaser has been shared to give you a glimpse of the upcoming coming-of-age drama that will soon land on the streaming giant.

When and where to watch Boots?

Miles Heizer-starrer Boots is the last show produced by the legendary producer Norman Lear before his death in December 2023. Touted to be a coming-of-age drama and comedy series, Boots is set to release on October 9. The makers have dropped a short teaser for a sneak peek into the upcoming series and its boot camp.

Boots cast, plotline, and first teaser

In the teaser, we meet a boy, who expresses his desire to change and become somebody else. “Boot camp is a machine that turns boys into men,” the officer tells the boy. Cameron Cope (Miles) is welcomed to the boot camp in a loud and unexpected style that makes him question his decision as he meets the other recruits. Here’s a sneak peek of the series:

Miles Heizer, who is renowned for playing Alex in Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why, is headlining Boots as a closeted guy who struggles with self-discovery and his identity in the military when being gay was termed illegal. The eight episodes are as follows:

BOOTS is a coming-of-age story of an aimless and closeted guy, Cameron Cope, who joins a diverse group of military recruits with his best friend, Ray McAffey (played by Liam Oh). From friendship to resilience and self-discovery, the series delves into various themes. Set against the backdrop of the U.S. Marine Corps in the 1990s era, this boot camp will take you on a journey against the odds.

Boots is based on Greg Cope White’s memoir The Pink Marine and is the last project of legendary producer Norman Lear before his demise.

The Conjuring actress Vera Farmiga also appears in a pivotal role alongside Max Parker, Cedrick Cooper, Ana Ayora, Angus O’Brien, Dominic Goodman, Kieron Moore, Nicholas Logan, Rico Paris, and others. Jennifer Cecil and Andy Parker are the showrunners for Boots.
