Which Border stars make a cameo in Border 2?

Akshaye Khanna, Suniel Shetty, Sudesh Berry and Puneet Issar, all martyred in the 1997 movie Border, make a brief and emotional cameo in Border 2. Interestingly, there were already reports that Suniel Shetty and Akshaye Khanna do have cameos in the movie, but it is not as expected. They appear in the form of a hologram, which represents a graphic memory.

What is the Border 2 scene like?

The cameos are towards the post-credit scenes. Asst Commandant Bhairon Singh Rathore, SM (Suniel Shetty), 2nd Lieutenant Dharamvir Bhakhri (Akshaye Khanna), Subedar Ratan Singh, VrC (Puneet Issar) and Naib Subedar Mathura Das, SM (Sudesh Berry) are martyred in the Battle of Longewala. This is the scene where Varun Dhawan’s Hoshiyar Singh Dahiya listens to the news on radio, while Sunny Deol’s character Fateh Singh Kaler visits Gurudwara to seek peace after the traumatic experience of war. He witnesses the spirits of those martyred, including Fg. Offr. Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon (Diljit Dosanjh) and Lt. Cdr. Mahendra Singh Rawat (Ahan Shetty), both of whom were fresh to the cast of Border 2. The scene has Sonu Nigam’s song ‘Mitti Ke Bete’ playing in the background.

While Sunny Deol’s character in Border 2 is not the same as what he played in Border, the scene holds an impact because of both nostalgia and the emotions attached to it.

Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 also stars Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Ananya Singh and Medha Rana as the female leads.
