Lt. Col. Fateh Singh Kaler, portrayed by Sunny Deol, leads his battalion through the chaos of war. He is joined by Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya (Varun Dhawan), Air Force pilot Nirmaljit Singh Sekhon (Diljit Dosanjh), and naval officer M.S. Rawat (Ahan Shetty).

The supporting cast includes Mona Singh as Surinder Kaur Chandpuri, wife of Major Kuldeep, Medha Rana as Dhano Devi, wife of Hoshiar Singh, and Sonam Bajwa as the on-screen wife of Sekhon, although the real-life officer was unmarried.
