Brahmastra: Fans say they hear Deepika Padukone’s voice in new clip; watch

As Brahmastra is inching closer to its release, fans' excitement is palpable to say the least. The film, one of the biggest Bollywood releases in post pandemic times, boasts of a star studded cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni. Deepika Padukone too is expected to make a cameo appearance in the film, although the makers have been tight lipped about the actress’ role. In a newly released clip from the film, many fans were excited to hear what they believed to be Deepika’s voice over.

As Brahmastra is gearing up to hit the big screen in less than 10 days, director Ayan Mukerji shared an intense clip from the film, which saw Ranbir in a fiery avatar. In the post’s caption Ayan expressed his elation at being able to bring Brahmastra to audiences on the big screen soon. He spoke of how the film only belonged to him and the team behind it all these years, and soon it would also belong to audiences when it hits theatres on September 9.“Very emotional, nervous, exciting, non-stop work days as we prepare to let Brahmāstra go out fully into this World!”, he wrote.

The short clip also features a voiceover where a woman is heard saying “Tujhme Agni astra ki thaakath hain. Kaun hain thu?”. Many netizens questioned whether or not the voice belonged to Deepika. Some of them even said with conviction that it was in fact Deepika’s voice. Many however, said that the voice did not belong to Deepika, but was in fact Mouni’s. But despite the back and forth over whose voice it was, many fans were in agreement that they could not wait to see Brahmastra hit screens next month.

Brahmastra – Part 1: Shiva also features a cameo role by Shah Rukh Khan, who will reportedly play a character wielding the Vanara astra.
