Brahmastra: Kesariya is our 'special song', says Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt

The soon to be parents will be seen together in the fantasy action thriller Brahmastra, which is directed by Ayan Mukerji.

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor tied the knot earlier this year, in a ceremony that was celebrated by thousands around the country. The two actors will also be seen together on screen in the upcoming mega project, Brahmastra. The song titled Kesariya from the movie was released this Sunday after a lot of anticipation, and the couple have now called the number their ‘special couple song’.

In a Q and A ahead of the song’s launch on Sunday, Ranbir said that he and Alia would talk about how they have not had a song of their own. “Alia and I have spoken about this ‘What is our song?” he said, to which Alia replied that it was “weird” they didn’t have their song for the longest time and said, “Now we have ‘Kesariya’ and it’s special.”

After the makers had released a song teaser on the couple’s wedding, Kesariya became a song that fans have been eagerly waiting for. Sung by Arjit Singh in Hindi, the song was also released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. The Hindi version of the love ballad already has over 20 million views on YouTube.

Alia and Ranbir will take the lead in Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, which is the first part of Ayan Mukerji’s trilogy titled Astraverse. Made on a massive budget, the movie is set in a contemporary world where the astras from Indian mythology really exist. A man with hidden abilities is thrown into this world where there is a war between good and evil.

Also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni in important roles, the movie is slated to hit theatres around the country on September 9, 2022.
