Brahmāstra: Part One- Shiva collects Rs 160 crore in two days

Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva might have opened to mixed reviews from the critics and audience, but the film seems to have brought immense joy to the film industry, theatre owners and. The film collected a whopping Rs 160 GBOC on Day 2 (Day 1 – 75 cr + Day 2 – 85 cr ). Brahmāstra is said to have raked in Rs 75 crore on the opening day thus ending the dry spell in Bollywood which has suffered a series of flops. Though the hashtags Boycott Bollywood and Boycott Brahmāstra: trended, the film managed to set the cash registers ringing.

Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva is a visually appealing big screen experience and a complete family entertainer with action, romance, drama and rrand VFX for all age groups. The fantasy action adventure, is written and directed by Ayan Mukerji. The film has a stellar ensemble cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni along with a cameo appearance by Shah Rukh Khan.

Ranbir had earlier told OTTplay, "This is not a normal film for the team. Brahmastra is more than an emotion. Just watch the film. And your response will be the emotion (I feel)," he had said. The film is said to be one of the biggest releases of the year. Music for Brahmāstra: Part One- Shiva is by English composer Simon Franglen and the soundtrack is composed by Pritam. While the lyrics are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya,  the music was produced and mixed by British musician  Steel Banglez.

The plot revolves around DJ Shiva (Ranbir), who realises that he has a strange connection with fire. The film is the first part of a trilogy and the director had revealed in an interview that he had spent six years working on the film. Produced by Star Studios and Dharma Productions, the magnum opus is currently in theatres in 2D, 3D and Imax 3D in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Brahmāstra: Part Two – Dev, will be the second instalment of the series.
