Brahmastra video: Watch Ranbir Kapoor usher the IPL in style

As Brahmastra is inching closer to completion, the makers seem to be pulling out all the stops in promoting the film. And what better way to do that than to join hands with Indians’ favourite sport aka cricket. The inaugural games of the IPL between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) kicked off today and team Brahmastra ushered in the games with a special announcement video.

The video, which can be viewed on the film’s official social media pages, opens with some awe inspiring imagery. Then enters Ranbir Kapoor, who is seen announcing the start of IPL today, saying that some ‘powerful weapons’ would be seen at the stadiums as well. He, of course, refers to the teams. The post was captioned, “Shiva just made #IPL2022 all the more special with this announcement! ❤️ Whose #Brahmastra will lead them towards victory? Catch the IPL Action on @starsportsindia”

The Brahmastra cast had also recently made an appearance in Cricket Live on Star Sports as well. There, they spoke about their favourite cricketers. While Ranbir was all praises for MS Dhoni, Ayan Mukerji gushed over Virat Kohli. The director even went on to share that if he had to pick a cricketer to cast in his film, it would be Virat. Alia Bhatt, on the other hand, named Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, MS Dhoni and Bumrah as her favourite players.

Produced by Karan Johar, Brahmastra also features Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Dimple Kapadia and Mouni Roy. The film is currently in the last leg of its shoot. It is being filmed in Varanasi.

Brahmastra will be released in theatres on September 9. The movie will be available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
