In the teaser, Abir Chatterjee, as Byomkesh Bashi, announces unveiling the criminal as he gears up to recreate the crime scene in front of the other characters. The teaser also shows the first look of Sohini Sarkar as Satyabati, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay as Ajit, Paoli as Sulochona, Anusha Viswanathan as Somaria, Arna Mukhopadhyay as Kochik, Kinjal Nanda as Bishu Pal and other actors.

The film with the ensemble cast will be released on August 11. The shooting of the film is done and the dubbing is in full swing. Recently, the poster of the film was released. In a chat with OTTplay, Arindam explained how the reaction of the fans after the poster release bowled him over. “It shows how Byomkesh fans have been waiting for years to watch the new film,” he told us. The last Byomkesh film was released four years ago.

Based on Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s incomplete work Bishupal Bodh, the script is developed by Arindam and Padmanabha Dasgupta. The film will showcase the 70s Kolkata when the Naxalbari Movement was in full swing. The poster to reflects the period film flavour with the makeup and costume of the actors and actresses, and the careful usage of a sepia tone.

In an earlier interview, Arindam also talked about the ‘hectic’ shooting schedule. He informed us that the shooting was completed in 20 days. “We had long hours, late-night shoots. It was not easy to recreate 1971 Kolkata. But everything went well and plans were executed properly,” he said. Produced by SVF and Camellia Productions, the film will hit the theatre on August 11.
