Amala Paul's ex-boyfriend, Bhavninder Singh, has been arrested by the police. The arrest has come after the Cadaver actress filed a complaint at the Villupuram Crime Branch. In the complaint, the actress alleged that she was cheated and threatened by the Mumbai-based singer and that the latter was trying to extort money from her after they decided to mutually part ways. She added that the singer had put her under tremendous mental and financial stress. Investigations are on in the case.

In 2020, there was a buzz about the actress being in a live-in relationship with the singer. But, soon their relationship hit a rocky patch after the singer shared some pictures from a photo shoot which gave a picture that they were married. Amala claimed that Bhavninder had misused the pictures that were taken for a professional assignment. She then moved the court to prevent Bhavninder from circulating the pictures on the internet. Though the pictures were later deleted by the singer, they had already gone viral. It was assumed that the couple tied in the knot in a private ceremony due to the pandemic.

On the work front, Amala was recently seen in Cadaver, a forensic thriller directed by Anoop Panicker. Amala also doubled up as the producer of the film. She was also seen in the short, Confession, directed by Venkat Prabhu. The short was part of the anthology, Victim-Who is next?, which streamed on SonyLIV.

Amala Paul is awaiting the release of Adho Andha Paravai Pola, a survival thriller set in the backdrop of a forest, directed by debutant KR Vinoth. The plot revolves around a woman who gets trapped in a forest and is trying to flee the woods. The star cast includes Ashish Vidyarthi, Samir Kochchar and Supreme Sundhar. The release has been indefinitely delayed.
