At the age of 93, VS made a brief appearance as himself in the film, which focused on student activism and politics in a college campus. Kannur is where his sequences were filmed.

Campus Diary, which made its theatrical debut in 2016, did not perform well at the box office. Debutante Jeevan Das helmed the movie. Along with Sudev Nair, Gauthami Nair, Anu Sithara, Joy Mathew, Renji Panicker, and RJ Mathukutty, the cast also includes well-known Malayalam actor Suraj Venjaramoodu. The film, which was funded by Jenish Patel and Sajay Aalakandy under the auspices of Drishya Arts Club, was written by Vinish Palayad. The movie is making its digital debut nine years after its big-screen debut. It began streaming in Malayalam on Saina Play from July 22.

Nikhil, a student who enrols in a college for his masters, is the main character of the movie. Nikhil is a man with a contemporary mindset who aspires to transform society. Meanwhile, his visit to a settlement as part of an NSS camp leads to some intriguing events. The main focus of the film is how these affect his perspective on politics and life.

Actors pay tribute to VS Achuthanandan

People from all walks of life expressed their condolences after VS, who was hailed as a man of the masses, passed away at the age of 101. Mohanlal called VS a "true people's hero." Mammootty, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, and KJ Yesudas were among the other celebrities who paid their respects to VS.
