After finally ending its theatrical run, Chhaava was out on OTT at mid-night. The film started streaming digitally on April 11 and while most were excited for it, a section was left disappointed. They are upset with the movie's makers and streaming platform over a move that could potentially impact the viewership. Find out what that is...

Chhaava not a multi-lingual release

Yes, the initial version of Vicky Kaushal-Rashmika Mandanna's Chhaava which started streaming on OTT is the Hindi version only. This is the same strategy that the makers had applied when the film released in theatres. Chhaava was originally released only in Hindi, that too, after hitting a minor snag.

However, the Vicky Kaushal-starrer also has an audience base in Telugu. Keeping that in mind, the makers then released Chhaava's Telugu version as well. While it was expected that both the versions would be out on OTT, that is not the case. This has left fans extremely disheartened since they wished to view the movie in their native language i.e. Telugu (Rashmika's fans, in particular, hoped for that experience).

What is Chhaava all about?

Chhaava is the first time that the focus has shifted from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to his son Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj's tale. While a movie like Har Har Mahadev had explored the life of Marathas under Shivaji Maharaj's empire, Chhaava is based in Mughal vs. Maratha era, much like Fatteshikast. Akshaye Khanna plays the role of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in the film.
