Is the consent of a woman not important once she gets married? The latest Hindi series tackles this question head-on as it delves into the still-taboo issue of marital rape. Divya Dutta leads the hard-hitting series after a young bride in her household faces insufferable trauma. Prasanna Bisht and Siddharth Shaw are also part of this six-episode social drama series.
Another social drama, but a Tamil film which is led by Tourist Family actor Sasikumar. The movie revolves around an underprivileged couple who become victims of organ trafficking and seek justice. Chaithra J Achar plays the female lead in My Lord, which is said to be based on true events. Guru Somasundaram, Jayaprakash, and Asha Sharath are also part of the film, directed by Raju Murugan. The Tamil film is streaming on Prime Video.
The latest Malayalam series revolves around a fake passport racket and the police attempts to bust the network. Two poor cousins get involved in the illegal trade as they seek to break free from their limited backgrounds. Kabir Duhan Singh appears as Dammanna in the series, which also features Sudheesh, Rony David, Deepak Parambol, Dinesh Prabhakar, Abu Saalim and Govind V. Pai.
The film follows the lead protagonist Seetha as she sets out on a crucial road trip for work. However, this journey turns out to be a transformative one for her. Aishwarya Arjun made her Telugu debut with this road romantic drama, which also features Niranjan Sudhindra in the other lead role. Arjun has directed and written this film.
Set during the 1970s, this series follows a hustler through the jazz scene in Calcutta even as he gets entangled in a bigger battle for the nation. Arifin Shuvoo leads Jazz City, which takes a close look at the Bangladesh Liberation War. Sauraseni Maitra, Shantanu Ghatak, Aniruddha Gupta, Sayandeep Sen, and Shreya Bhattacharya are also part of the 10-episode series.
