The 1-minute and 43-second trailer of Chiraiya delves into Kamlesh’s world, the seemingly perfect daughter-in-law of a close-knit family, whose life starts to crumble when she uncovers that her sister-in-law Pooja is trapped in an abusive marriage.
As the hidden truth comes out, Kamlesh struggles with the conflict between family loyalty and moral courage. What begins as a silent discomfort turns into a deep, personal rebellion against deeply entrenched patriarchal traditions, forcing her to question long-held beliefs and confront an uncomfortable reality: consent is never automatic, even within the walls of marriage.
Under the guise of family customs and cultural expectations, women often endure silence that hides painful realities. Society confuses tacit consent with harmony, and consent is often taken lightly in marriage. Chiraiya trailer exposes this urgent issue with unflinching clarity. This series carries an important message: marriage does not override a woman's autonomy, and marriage cannot silence her body, voice, or choices.
Divya Dutta, who plays the role of Kamlesh, said, "With Chiraiya, we aren’t just telling a story; we are holding up a mirror to the silences we’ve inherited. I’ve always been mindful of the characters I bring to life, but Kamlesh is different. She is a piece of my heart. She is a woman bound by the values she’s always cherished, yet she finds herself at a crossroads where her love for family meets her refusal to ignore injustice."
She said Kamlesh's journey is not a loud rebellion; it is a silent, powerful awakening of a woman choosing dignity over fear. Divya said that playing the role of Kamlesh moved her, because she reflects the reality that lurks in the corners of many homes.
On the other hand, Sanjay Mishra said that Chiraiya's impact is its honesty. It does not present characters as heroes or villains, but as people shaped by beliefs, upbringing, and fear of judgment.
"I love how the story holds a mirror to the uncomfortable realities within families and highlights how silence can often become the biggest enabler of injustice," he added.
