Dulquer Salmaan’s Chup: Revenge of the Artist looks set to cash in on the positive buzz that the film’s free preview across select cities has already generated. The advance booking of the movie, which is set to hit theatres on September 23, has already got off to a good start and the makers will be hoping that the reduced price of tickets on the opening day as well as the audience reviews will further fuel the rush to the theatres.

The film, which is touted to be a crime thriller told through dark humour, is helmed by R Balki and marks Dulquer’s third Hindi film after Karwaan and The Zoya Factor. The makers, for arguably the first time, held a free preview – exclusively for the audience – in theatres across the country on September 20 and the reviews have been largely positive.

Coupled with this, the movie, which will be releasing on National Cinema Day in almost 4000 screens across India, will be shown in a lot of theatres with tickets priced at Rs 75. Advance booking of the film had begun on September 20 and the Day 1 report suggests that the film will do decent numbers with theatres in Ahmedabad, Delhi and Pune leading the advanced bookings currently.

On September 20 itself, the film’s advanced booking was higher than John Abraham and Disha Patani’s Ek Villain Returns and is poised to overtake two of Akshay Kumar’s recent releases Raksha Bandhan and Samrat Prithviraj. Dulquer’s fan following in the South too is expected to boost these numbers, guaranteeing a solid opening for the movie that had sold 32,000 tickets on September 20.

With two more days to go, more theatres across the country are expected to open bookings for the film, which also has Pooja Bhatt and Shreya Dhanwanthary. Meanwhile, Dulquer took to his social networking pages on Tuesday to post a video, urging the audience to watch the film in theatres on its opening day for Rs 75.
