CID Moosa 2: Actor-filmmaker Johny Antony, who made his directorial debut with CID Moosa way back in 2003, confirmed that the second part will release in 2027.

The Malayalam film CID Moosa starring actor Dileep, is a cherished film for scores of millennials for its slapstick comedy and cartoonish characters. Talks about a sequel to the action comedy come up every now and then, but there has been no official update. Now, CID Moosa director Johny Antony officially confirms that the sequel is happening and that it would be out in 2027.

Actor-filmmaker Johny Antony, who made his directorial debut with CID Moosa way back in 2003, confirmed that the second part will release in 2027. Johny Antony made the announcement during an event in Kottayam on Sunday evening, while he was listing out the upcoming movies.
“Ottakomban, Pallichattambi, Derby are all set to arrive. But above everything else, in 2027, CID Moosa 2 will be coming,” he said.
Earlier in 2023, the director had said they were planning the sequel.
CID Moosa revolves around Moolamkuzhiyil Sahadevan, who aspires to be a cop. But when his attempts fail, he turns a private detective and takes on the name CID Moosa. He is assisted by his father, also a cop, and constable Vikraman.
The film follows their hilarious antics and misadventures, even as they crackdown on a terror plot.
Dileep starred in the titular role, along with Jagathy Sreekumar as his brother-in-law, Harisree Ashokan,
(late actor) Cochin Haneefa, Oduvil Unnikrishnan, and Salim Kumar, among others. Bhavana played the female lead.

Dileep was last seen in Bha Bha Ba which opened to mixed to negative reviews. Johny Antony has been focusing more on his acting career in recent years, acing both comedy and character roles.
