A global spy agency, its agents and a powerful syndicate. These three terms encircle the plotline of Citadel. Starring actors Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden in lead roles, this American spy series focuses on the lives of Citadel agents Mason Kane (as Madden) and Nadia Sinh (as Jonas) respectively. To make it problematic, the memories of these agents have been wiped clean by the enemies. Now, only time will tell whether the agents be able to fulfill their mission.

While the buzz around the series continues to gain momentum, actor Stanley Tucci, who essays the role of a Citadel spy – Bernard Orlick in the series divulged details on his experience of working on Citadel.

During a recent press conference, he said, “I think Citadel is probably the largest-scale project I’ve ever done. I have done big movies, but I have never done a series that has this kind of scope and complexity. And the technology. In other words, the technology within the series, but also the technology that’s used to make the series.”

The series will also star actress Lesley Manville as Dahlia Archer, actor Osy Ikhile as Carter Spence, and actress Ashleigh Cummings as Abby Conroy.

Executively produced by the Russo Brothers’ AGBO and showrunner David Weil, Citadel’s first two episodes are streaming on Prime Video, with episode three premiering this Friday, May 5. The series will have a weekly episodic release until May 26.

Reportedly, the budget of the spy series is estimated to be $200 million (roughly about Rs 1600 crore). With this, the series has become the second most expensive project of all time behind Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

The series will also include spin-off shows in different languages. The Indian series, featuring actors Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, will be directed by Raj & DK soon.
