Classroom of the Elite renewed for second season

Anime fans, the wait is finally over! After almost four years, Classroom of the Elite is about to make a comeback. It is announced that the popular Japanese series has been renewed for a second season.

The exciting news was announced on the official Twitter handle of the anime series. Check out the post below:

The series follows the story of Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, a student who joins the prestigious high school, Tokyo Koudo Ikusei Senior High School. Popular as a school, where almost all of the graduates get enrolled in good colleges or find employment, Ayanokoji is disappointed when he finds that he is in Class 1-D, which is usually reserved for the ‘problematic’ students of the school. The school employs a system where the students are given free rein in classes, and talking, sleeping and even making trouble in the classes go unpunished. However, as time goes by, some of the students discover a dark secret behind the school’s flexible system.

The series is adapted from the young adult novel series of the same name, written by Shōgo Kinugasa and illustrated by Shunsaku Tomose. The books were first published back in 2015. A manga based on the same was also developed.

The series features the voices of Amber Lee Connors, Justin Briners, Felecia Angelle, Brandon McInnis, Aaron Dismuke, Sarah Wiedenheft, Travis Mullenix, Leah Clark, Dallas Reid, Jennifer Alyx, Eric Vale and Bryn Apprill, among others. The novels were adapted for television by Studio Lerche.

All 12 episodes of the popular first season of Classroom of the Elite started streaming on Netflix in 2017. However, a release date for the new season is yet to be announced.
