Constable Kanakam is one of the recent OTT releases that attracted mixed reviews. However, the Varsha Bollama–led show clocked solid viewership and ended on a cliffhanger, setting the stage for season 2.

We at OTTplay had earlier revealed that season 2 would be released in December 2025. However, the latest update is that the new season has been pushed to January 2026.

As per the current schedule, Constable Kanakam Season 2 will begin streaming on ETV Win from January 8, 2026. Once the show lands on OTT, it can also be streamed on OTTplay Premium.

Director Prashanth Kumar Dimmala stated that, based on feedback from season one, significant changes have been made to season 2, which he promises will be bigger and better.

Even before the release of season one, the show made headlines when Zee5 launched a series titled Viraatapalem: PC Meena Reporting which was said to have a similar storyline. A court case was also filed, but no action was taken. The Zee5 series ended as a flop, whereas Constable Kanakam went on to become a hit.

Now, all eyes are on the second season of the web series. Rajeev Kanakala played a key role in season one, and his performance was highly appreciated by critics. In season 2, he will have an even bigger role, alongside Srinivas Avasarala, who plays the main antagonist.
