Coolie, the most-awaited Tamil film starring Rajinikanth, will release soon in theatres. It is one of the prominent releases of August, and all eyes are on the Lokesh Kanagaraj film. With only a few days left for the release, here is everything you need to know about the project.

Coolie is an upcoming Tamil film which is set to release in theatres on August 14. The film will clash with Hindi spy action thriller War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Junior NTR.

The trailer of Coolie was released by the makers recently, giving way for fan theories about the film involving time travel. The trailer shows all the major characters from the film, and establishes Nagarjuna playing the antagonist. We also get to see that Sathyaraj is surrounded by interesting apparatus (which is deduced to be a time-travelling element), while he says he has kept a man “offline” for 30 years. Rajinikanth in his massy avatar is seen to be the aged gangster and the trailer hints at a de-aged look of the superstar.

Coolie is expected to be an action thriller revolving around an aged gangster who revives his gang for a mission. Not much about the official plot has been shared, but elements of smuggling, gold watches, and emotional revenge will play the main crux of the story.
