Coolie, the recently released Tamil action thriller featuring Rajinikanth in the lead role, is all set to make its OTT debut soon. Prime Video has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film and will premiere it in multiple languages on September 11. It looks like Coolie, which was censored A at the time of release, remains to be with the same certificate despite makers approaching the court.

Coolie OTT release: Rajinikanth-starrer remains to be A certified

Coolie, the Rajinikanth-starrer action drama, released about a month back. Following the usual OTT norm, the film will be premiering on OTT in the coming days as it concludes four weeks of theatrical run. Prime Video has announced the OTT release date as September 11. Subscribers of OTTplay Premium, can watch Coolie by topping up their existing plan with Prime Video.

Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film boasts a star ensemble. At the time of release, the makers of Coolie announced that the film is A certified. But a few days after theatrical run, the team had contested at court to give a U/A certificate. While the legal authorities refused to do so, it looks like Coolie OTT release will also bear the same certification. Although the viewers on OTT are not regulated by censor, Prime Video has mentioned Coolie to be an A certified film.

Coolie will release on Prime Video on September 11. The film will be made available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Featuring Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir and others, the action thriller has music by Anirudh Ravichander. Though the film opened to negative reception, Coolie went on to become the highest grossing Tamil film this year so far. The film revolves around Deva, a mansion owner who seeks out to know the true reason behind his friend’s death.
