There are many crime series and films that narrate real-life incidents but rarely do they focus on what goes behind a police investigation, and the challenges the law enforcement agency faces. The Netflix documentary Crime Stories: India Detectives aims to offer the behind-the-scenes of a criminal investigation, from the perspective of the police.

The trailer hints at taking the audience up close and personal to some gruesome cases the city of Bengaluru has witnessed, and how the police force has dealt with the case. The trailer shows crimes that look heinous, gruesome and dark, which promises content that will be gritty and probably hard to watch for the faint-hearted.

According to the streaming giant, the show will be a four-part documentary series that follows detectives from the Bengaluru city police as they investigate four shocking cases. The trailer gives a peek at the series, trying to capture the events, inner workings and emotions involved with the cases and investigations.

Directed by N Amit and Jack Rampling, the cases could be from extortion and kidnapping to murder. The trailer reveals a well-made show that makes use of interviews, CCTV footage and fast-paced real-time action.

Produced by Minnow Films, which has previously backed the Netflix series Bad Boy Millionaires, Crime Stories: India Detectives will arrive on Netflix on September 22.
