We had already reported that actor Dhanush will be pairing up with Por Thozhil director Vignesh Raja for the latter’s second directorial. Tentatively called D54, the makers dropped a huge update on Thursday for the occasion of Pongal. Titled Kara, the first look poster was revealed as well.

D54: What is the new update on Dhanush film?

Dhanush, who was last seen in Hindi film Tere Ishq Mein, had announced a film with director Vignesh Raja. The makers on Thursday announced the title of the project. Titled Kara, it is Dhanush’s 54th outing as lead actor. The title poster shows a close-up shot of Dhanush's face as he stares right through the camera, while a long shot of him shows standing against a burning cotton field. 'Sometimes staying dangerous is the only way to stay alive' is written on the poster.

When is D54 – Kara releasing?

Kara is expected to be an actioner, and is set for a theatrical release in summer 2026. More details on the film are expected to surface towards the near of release. Kara’s release date is yet to be announced by the makers. However, after its theatrical run, Kara will premiere on Netflix.

Kara is written and directed by Vignesh Raja, along with his Por Thozhil writer Alfred Prakash. In the film, Dhanush will be teaming up with an interesting cast including actors Mamitha Baiju, KS Ravikumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunas, Jayaram, Pritivi Pandiraj, among others.
