Meghna Gulzar has been making news for a while for her next movie that was titled Daayra and was a crime drama that took the filmmaker into completely new territory. There were rumours that the film would star Kareena Kapoor Khan alongside Ayushmann Khurrana but nothing concrete came out about it. Last week in Mumbai, the eagle-eyed paparazzi saw Kareena meeting Prithviraj Sukumaran, which left the fans of both the stars excited as they wanted to know what was cooking. Turns out the two have now joined forces for Meghna’s next and will be seen together in the film. Titled Daayra the movie is now confirmed, and the three have even shared the announcement pictures. Kareena Kapoor Khan-Prithviraj Sukumaran Join Forces For Meghna Gulzar's Daayra

As per the official synopsis of the film on various portals, Just Married fame Meghna Gulzar's Daayra taps into the pulse of the people as it confronts the topical and diabolical realities unfolding in society today. This crime-drama thriller explores the age-old paradox of crime, punishment, and justice with powerhouse actors Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran in intense, commanding roles. The three shared beautiful notes while announcing the movie.

The Chameli fame, Kareena Kapoor Khan, on her Instagram handle, shared a picture where the three can be seen posing for the camera together, and another is an intense still of Prithviraj Sukumaran and Kareena Kapoor Khan staring into each other's eyes with an intriguing gaze. Kareena Kapoor wrote, “I've always said that I'm a director's actor... and this time cannot wait to work with one of the finest directors we have, @meghnagulzar & alongside the magnificent @therealprithvi, whose work I deeply admire. To my dream team, #Daayra, let's do this.”

Prithviraj Sukumaran wrote, “Some stories stay with you from the moment you hear them.
DAAYRA is that for me. Excited to work with Meghna Gulzar, the incredible Kareena Kapoor Khan and Team Junglee Pictures! Wish you all a very happy Vishu!”

Filmmaker Meghna Gulzar wrote, “When the lines of Law and Justice cross. Thrilled to embark on DAAYRA with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran. A much-anticipated journey with Junglee Pictures and my co-writers Yash Keswani and Sima Agarwal.”

Co-written by Yash and Sima alongside Meghna, the film is currently in pre-production. Talking about the same, Kareena Kapoor said, “As I celebrate 25 incredible years in Hindi cinema, I'm thrilled to announce my next film, Daayra with the incredible Meghna Gulzar in the director's chair. I've longed to be directed by her—it's a dream come true. The opportunity to collaborate with the talented Prithviraj is also a highlight, and I'm drawn to the film's bold, thought-provoking narrative. Daayra promises to be inspiring, and I look forward to working with Meghna, Prithviraj, and the team at Junglee Pictures.”
