Indian music composer Daboo Malik also appeared in a Weekend Ka Vaar special episode after his son Amaal Mallik engaged in an ugly fight with verbal abuse with fellow contestant Farhana Bhatt. The fight escalated so much that Amaal took Farhana’s plate and threw it in a fit of rage after hearing her ‘B-Grade’ comment. Amaal also verbally abused Farhana and faced backlash from fans and viewers online. In a recent conversation with Screen, Amaal’s father, Daboo Malik, revealed the severe impact on his public image ever since he went inside the house. He added how the sudden wave of fame and negativity that comes along with it has affected him.

Daboo Malik on abuses and reality shows

The composer also revealed how the language and slurs have surprised him. Speaking to the portal, Daboo said, “What is hurting most is the tirade of negativity that happens. I never thought of ourselves as stars. We are normal musicians. But suddenly, the explosion that has happened shows that the power of Bigg Boss is too big. So many things have happened. I have never been exposed to this kind of language that people have been using. At this age, I cannot hear abuses like these.”

Daboo Malik and Amaal Malik have been carrying on the musical legacy of their family. The father-son duo got emotional in the Bigg Boss 19 weekend episode when Daboo even requested Amaal not to go ‘below the belt’ and curb his anger. Although he praised his game, he simultaneously advised him to be respectful towards the co-contestants. Daboo Malik spoke about the constant scrutiny he has been under after Amaal’s behaviour in the house, which also raised questions about his upbringing and parenting.

"I have been targeted for my upbringing. As a father, I am being doubted, wrong things are being told to me, and I am listening to everything. You cannot stop anyone,” he added.

Meanwhile, Bigg Boss 19 had a surprising elimination when Pranit More had to exit the house on medical grounds. Despite not being officially evicted, the stand-up comedian’s journey came to an end. In the upcoming episode, the housemates will nominate each other for eviction.
