Dear Ishq episode 2 continues to be the perfect example of Indian Hindi TV drama where overacting is at the peak.

Dear Ishq.

Story:

Abhimanyu will sign a deal only if Asmita comes on board as the editor. Can they make things work?

Review:

“Chalo tumhe aaj kal ka romance padhaate hai.” Or not! The second episode of Dear Ishq forcefully taps into the emotions of love and like we mentioned, it is unnatural.

As soon as the second episode of Dear Ishq commences, the focus is back on camera. The camera pans in and out constantly to create the dramatic effect. While it works, well, it’s overly dramatic, especially when combined with the close-up of the male lead, Sehban Azim.

His Abhimanyu, as expected from the last episode, takes the lead. This time, he shows more skills than just being a romance novel writer. However, there’s barely good in that too.

Niyati Fatnani as Asmita barely acts this time around. She, in fact, overacts.

Kishwer Merchant in the role of Maya is only fairly good. She is the only actor who is worth watching in the whole show.

The episode perfectly gets Indian society behaviours. A writer is made to write essay for her neighbours. Welcome to Indian societies.

While it gets that aspect right, we’re yet to see the makers get the romance or even basic storyline right. Here’s hoping things improve in the upcoming episodes.

Verdict:

Dear Ishq starts to get better but it’s almost like hitting the bulls eye in the dark. The upcoming episodes might provide something more fruitful.
