The focus is only on Tanjiro’s training which gets boring after a point.

Demon Slayer season 3 (Swordsmith Village Arc) episode 2 review: This anime goes around in circles
Demon Slayer.

Story:

Tanjiro finds out that Tokito is with a man from his dreams. Hell-bent on finding out what is happening, Tanjiro dives headfirst into a complicated matter.

Review:

Episode two of Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc commences where the last ended – with the mysterious Muichiro Tokito and the villagers. One of them appears to be the deadliest demon alive - Upper Rank One Kokushibo. Tanjiro observes them and there is a moment when it’s Tokito vs him. That has not changed since the first scene of season 1.

Tokito’s personality has changed drastically. In fact, you get to know more about him through this episode and season. Tanjiro’s shine thanks to him.

Tokito’s crow has as much an attitude as him. She’s a personality of her own.

Tanjiro’s reactions are very child-like this time in the anime. They are very sketchbook and cartoon-like.

Kotesku hides behind a mask but has a story of his own. He makes an impression nonetheless. Even this mysterious kid has skills.

Tanjiro’s training works only in parts. The episode sure is dramatized which works against it.

The post-credit scene in this episode also works only to an extent. It is all about Tanjiro and Kotesku’s bond and very little about Nezuko. In this episode, you definitely miss Zenitsu and Inosuke’s madness that balances out the not-so-sorted Tanjiro.

Verdict:

Episode 2 of Demon Slayer Swordsmith Village isn’t up to the mark. It is all about Tanjiro and roams around in circles. Most portions of the episode focus on his training over anything else. There is barely any interest piqued through the same.
