Monsoon Raaga has just got a new release date. The S Ravindranath directorial has been announced as a September 16 theatrical release. The film has already had two postponements, first from August 12 to August 19 and then to September 16, but this time, it seems they will stick to the plan as Monsoon Raaga has been censored U/A and is ready for release.

Produced by Vikhyath AR, Monsoon Raaga is the Kannada remake of the critically-acclaimed 2018 Telugu film, C/O Kancharapalem, and has on board Achyuth Kumar, Suhasini Maniratnam, and Yasha Shivakumar, among others. The original film was a slice-of-life anthology, which followed four unconventional love stories, all of which were set in the neighbourhood of Kancharapalem.

Monsoon Raaga will not be Dhananjaya’s only release this month. He will also be seen in Navarasa Nayaka Jaggesh’s Thotapuri, the first part of which will be in theatres on September 30 for Dasara. Kannada cinema’s Natarakshasa should have, ideally, seen the release of Once Upon A Time in Jamaligudda also, which was earlier planned for September 9. But that’s been pushed ahead and no new date has been announced yet.

The actor, who is busy with Hoysala and the newly-announced Uttarakaanda, is expected to soon embark on the promotions of his second as producer, Head Bush. Dhananjaya plays slain gangster MP Jayaraj in the three-part biopic, based on a book by former gangster-turned-writer/mediaperson, Agni Sridhar, My Days in the Underworld. The film, directed by Shoonya, will chronicle Jayaraj’s rise to prominence in the 70s and 80s, until his death in 1989. Head Bush has a massive ensemble cast, including Vasishta N Simha, Loose Mada Yogi, Raghu Mukherjee, Paayal Rajput, Sruthi Hariharan, Balu Nagendra, V Ravichandran, among others. The first instalment of Head Bush will be in theatres on October 21.
