Dhanush's Captain Miller, directed by Arun Matheswaran of Rocky and Saani Kaayidham-fame, will begin production on October 7. The actor most recently had a successful box office hit with Thiruchitrambalam, which was released on August 18. In addition, Selvaraghavan's film Naane Varuven is getting ready for release.

Captain Miller marks the first collaboration between Arun Matheswaran and Dhanush.

The Captain Miller crew intends to film in and around Tenkasi for the movie and has set a 120-day shooting schedule.

Don Doctor, and Etharkum Thuninthavan actress Priyanka Arul Mohan has almost been confirmed as the female protagonist opposite Dhanush.

Sundeep Kishan, who was last seen in the Telugu film Gully Rowdy, is also a part of this one.

It will be a historical drama with settings from the 1930s to the 1940s. Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions of Captain Miller will all be released at the same time. The team has gone through a year of thorough pre-production.

Captain Miller is scheduled to release in 2023.

OTTplay previously spoke with Arun Matheswaran, who said, "We will be re-creating the 1930s, and this is also the largest budgeted film for me. I like the name Captain Miller after Tom Hanks’s character name from Saving Private Ryan.”

The film has cinematography by Shreyas Krishna, editing by Nagooran, and music composed by GV Prakash Kumar.

Meanwhile, sharing a statement, TG Thyagarajan of Sathya Jyothi Films said, “I am elated to announce our prestigious project Captain Miller, which I strongly believe will be one among the promising movies made at a grand scale from our production house. Working with iconic actor Dhanush has always been a great pleasure as our previous collaborations have been successful.”
