Star hero Dhanush makes his direct Telugu debut with the film Sir a.k.a Vaathi in Tamil. The film has been produced by S Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas and presented by Srikara Studios. The Tamil-Telugu bilingual, written and directed by Venky Atluri was released today to decent word of mouth.

Post the release, director Venky Atluri and S Naga Vamsi spoke to the media today. “I am thrilled about the responses to Sir. I made a genuine attempt and came out of my comfort zone to give the audience something new. I am grateful they’ve appreciated it as they are coming out of theatres with a heavy heart and I couldn’t have asked for more". said director Venky.

Venky Atluri also adds that Dhanush was very confident from day one and is also very happy with the footfalls for Sir. “I set the film in the 90s because I grew up in that era. But I can say very little about how our education system has not changed over the years. The response has been good as audiences are connecting to its emotions" said venky.

Adding further, producer Naga Vamsi said "We sold the film to distributors at reasonable rates and they’re all excited about this start. As the word of mouth is growing and advance bookings are great, more theaters will be added in the days to come. Samyuktha Menon, Samutirakani and Hyper Aadi played key roles in this film which had hit music by GV Prakash.
