A new Tamil web series is in the making. Aha Tamil recently took to social media to announce Dhoolpet, a long-format show. The Tamil original web series will soon be available to users of OTTplay Premium to stream. It stars Ashwin Kumar in the lead role.

Dhoolpet is an upcoming Tamil web series which has been announced by streaming platform Aha Tamil. It is touted to be a crime web series and will consist of 50 episodes. Set against the vibrant yet intense backdrop of a bustling Chennai police station, the series delves deep into the city’s light and darkness.

The show features an ensemble cast including Ashwin Kumar, Guru Lakshmanan, Padini Kumar, Shreethu, and Preethi Sharma in prominent roles. Ashwin Kumar, who was seen in films like Enna Solla Pogirai and O Manappenne, will be playing the lead role in the web series and the role of an Assistant Commissioner of Police. Dhoolpet is helmed by Jeshwini. The story and screenplay are penned by Brahma G. Dev, director of the film Sundaattam, with music scored by Ashwath, known for his work in FIR and Nalanum Nandhiniyum. A release date for the film is yet to be announced by the makers.

Speaking about the series, Kavitha Joubin of Aha Tamil, said Dhoolpet will be the first crime series to be presented in a long-format structure. “With a talented woman director, a powerful narrative, and an exceptional cast, this project is truly special.”
