Filmmaker/actor Pawan Kumar and Hombale Films are set to make their Malayalam debut this year with the drama thriller Dhoomam. Fahadh Faasil leads the film along with Aparna Balamurali with the ensemble cast also including Roshan Mathew, Vineeth, Achyuth Kumar and several others.

Having piqued the curiosity of the audience with the first-look poster, the makers are now ready to share a bigger glimpse of the film. The trailer of Dhoomam will be released on June 8 at 12:59 pm exactly and one can catch the video on Hombale Films' official YouTube channel.

"We can assure you it's going to be LIT," said Pawan Kumar and Hombale Films while sharing this exciting update, using the word 'LIT' as a pun on the film's central idea of cigarette smoking. Although the synopsis or the logline of the film's story remains under wraps, it is no secret that smoking plays a huge role in the design of the film.

Pawan Kumar, in fact, was meant to make the same film as a follow-up to his breakthrough film 'Lucia', which released in 2013. Originally titled 'C10H14N2', Pawan is said to have written the script back in 2008 but both the idea and the script, he says, evolved over time.

The first-look poster of Dhoomam, which shows Fahadh Faasil's mouth taped or plastered, caught the attention of the audience. "Is he being silenced for some reason? Or is he forbidden from smoking?" were the two queries we had for Pawan Kumar but the writer-director refrained from letting the secret out. Nevertheless, he would disclose that the poster depicts a loose version of the much larger narrative, adding that although the story revolves around Fahadh Faasil's character, each character in the film is extremely significant.

Dhoomam, a Malayalam original, will be dubbed and released in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu.
