The glorifying collection now aims to surpass top-grossing films like S. S. Rajamouli’s RRR and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. The espionage thriller, directed by Aditya Dhar, emerged as a big all-time blockbuster with its solid performance at the box office, as it minted more than Rs 722 crore in the domestic market. Aditya Dhar’s gripping thriller Dhurandhar performed well on New Year’s Eve as fans lined up in theatres to watch the movie. On Day 27, Dhurandhar raked in Rs 10.50 crore (early estimates). After beating Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, Dhurandhar now eyes smashing the record of Jawan to become the sixth highest-grossing Indian film ever. The spy thriller has managed to surpass the Rs 1128 crore mark in its staggering worldwide collection. It covered an overall Hindi occupancy of 22.72% on December 31 (Wednesday). Dhurandhar earned Rs 722.75 crore in the domestic collection and is inching closer to the Rs 750 crore mark by this weekend.

About Dhurandhar's new version and star cast

Meanwhile, fans will now witness an edited version of Dhurandhar from January 1, 2026, as the censor board made two changes in the movie as words were cut in the new version. Directed by Aditya Dhar of URI: The Surgical Strike, Dhurandhar features a star-studded ensemble of Ranveer Singh as a spy and Akshaye Khanna as Rehman Dakait, the infamous crime lord of Pakistan’s Lyari. R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, and Sara Arjun are part of the ensemble. The story centers around an intelligence agent, who infiltrates a criminal gang to pursue its high-stakes mission.
