Dhurandhar finally landed on Netflix on January 30 at midnight. However, the excitement was short-lived, as viewers noticed the OTT version runs 10 minutes shorter than the original.

Dhurandhar, the action thriller starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, is now streaming on Netflix in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. After a highly successful theatrical run, the film, which was released on OTT, has been facing criticism from viewers, as it contained muted, censored dialogue and about 10 minutes of truncated, "A-rated" content.

The 10-minute reduction in Dhurandhar’s runtime on Netflix from its original 3 hours 34 minutes theatrical version to approximately 3 hours 25 minutes, is largely due to censorship edits and technical frame-rate differences. Fans have noticed that some scenes were trimmed and that is due to Netflix playing videos at 25 frames per second (fps) while theatres play 24 frames per seconds and that is why the 10-minute cut appeared.
But apart from that, what angered fans was that the OTT version also features muted dialogue involving political references, such as “Baloch,” and profanity, despite retaining an ‘A’ rating. Scenes and dialogue, particularly references to the Baloch community and specific political references by characters, were muted or cut. Fans expressed disappointment that an 'A'-rated film had been edited for mature audiences.
Cuts with specific, sensitive, or intense scenes were likely implemented by the streaming platform, resulting in the film losing approximately 10 minutes from its original runtime, which led to intense backlash.
Dhurandhar (2025) is a high-octane espionage action-thriller directed by Aditya Dhar, featuring Ranveer Singh as a RAW agent who lands in the Karachi underworld to destroy the ISI-mafia nexus. The film explores themes of patriotism and covert operations, following a storyline heavily focused on mind games.
Set against the backdrop of geopolitical conflict, the plot follows Indian agent Hamza (Ranveer Singh), who embeds himself in Karachi's underworld, specifically within the gang of Rehman Dacait. The goal is to break the terror networks responsible for attacks on India, such as the hijacking of IC-814, the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, and the 2001 Parliament attack.
